I apologise if this question has been asked before, and I think it has, but damned if I can find it. I’m using a bt878 Hauppauge win TV go Card on windows 2k SP3. I can view tv channels through my capture card program (win TV go) but virtual dub 1.41 doesn’t display anything, I have read a few articles and FAQ’s and I have tried the files in the sticky at the top of the page, still no luck, I wouldn’t mind if I had never got this to work, but the stupid thing is I had it working before my last RE-FORMAT!!! As my memory recalls all I did was install everything on the cd ;), then install the TV capture patch for direct x 8.1, but this time nothings working! Any help? Could it be the order I install or upgrading to service pack 3?

did you try switching to preview function instead of overlay?

yes i have tried that , i think its more driver related then virtualdub as avi_io and others don't work either , i think its a WDM / VFW Problem but i can't be sure as i don't know alot about the two (i.e which one does which ...i think is VFW as the other one is installed,... to my knowlege) . other than that i have no idea why its not working , i bet it will be something so simple though. :D

I'm using the standard Hauppauge VfW drivers on my Win2000 SP3 system with no problems (WinTV PCI). Anything else I tried so far didn't work out.
I recommend to uninstall the Hauppauge software, and your WDM drivers you may have installed. Then install the Hauppauge software again and use the VfW drivers. You may want to try the BtWinCap drivers from SourceForge, too, but beware: system backup recommended!

Have you tried http://kickme.to/svcdcorder I use this
program together with the WDM drivers.
I have a generic 878 card.
Very nice performance, timing, postediting and SVCD generation.
