i've tried all the heavies... i started with my personal fave, SmartRipper, then downloaded and tried DVDDecrypter and CladDVD, even vStrip thru the GUI. NONE had options to rip from VIDEO_TS =( ...IS there any way to do this? if not can the rippers maybe try to implement it? this also became a prob when trying to get the trailers out of The Game DVD...

the DVD i'm playing with at the moment, fyi is the Linkin Park DVD-Audio disc (also includes 5.1 and 2.0 AC3 in the VIDEO_TS directory, which is what i'm trying to rip). i KNOW it can be done. i ripped flawless AC3 from a disc of music vids and picture-only songs called 750 MPH). could someone please implement this into some rippers please? :)

I thought that vob was only for the menus or something similar? I dont think it actually contains any dvd video.

nah it can contain a stuff like trailers and whatnot. as you said, the menus are in there, and they are video, too, in a sense.

if you have The Game R1 check it out. it has trailers in it.

Well in that case, just use vobedit.
You might need to decrypt it to your hdd first using a ripper, but after that, vobedit should work just fine.

Perhaps vobedit does decryption itself - i dont know?!

geeeeez took for freakin' ever but i think i figured it out, at least for the Linkin Park DVD...

to get individual tracks, i had to do a
vstrip video_ts.vob -c -o+out 0x80

then to get all the tracks in one VOB, i did a
vstrip video_ts.vob -v -o+out 0x80
