I capture with my ATI AIW 8500 from sat and digital cable and want to get the best possible results to fit onto a dvd-r. Here's what I do now
1. capture at 7mbps, VBR, 720x480, 48khz 16bit stereo,
2. use tempgenc to do simple demux into m2v and mp2
3. convert mp2 into ac3 using ac3machine
4. use rempeg on m2v if movie is too big
5. import into maestro and create dvd volume then burn.

my question is using MMC 7.7.0.1 If I do inverse 3:2 pulldown, does that make it 23.97, and how would I check? I heard this is better to use in cce. also what would be the best settings in cce to use for an ati file after it is demuxed in tempgenc?
Any help would be great and thanx
