Is there a link to were this is posted with the pictures? I was just wondering if I could get a copy of it with the pictures. This would help me out a lot since I'm more of a visual person.

Thanks

Try IceAge instead.. it has 34 PGC and the method works NP

no actually I'd suggest Episode 1 or Episode II as a serious contender for use in the guide...

the R1 is 3 angle 8 PGC and the R2 is single angle 11 PGC.. again method or slightly adapted method works np... would show how to beat multi-angle on the frameserve also, and missing/mismatched content.

I posted reply "8PGC no problemo" in this thread

http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?threadid=34795

also could the guide cover use of blankclip in avisynth to ensure encoded lengths match... I've also had success matching length using MPegdecoder.dll and specifying number of frames.

I've done both. Fast and the Furious is much harder, IMO. Of the 29 pgcs in the main movie VTS in Furious, many are seamless branching and just link back to sections in the movie (menu has an area where you can jump to where a particular song was played), and some are completely new videos. This DVD also features slideshows, which are a major PITA to recreate. Much fun, I tell ya!

Ice age, by contrast, was just all seamless branching.. very easy to reauthor if you know seamless branching technique. One of the 'funner' parts of Ice Age was the multiple angle extras VTS, but it was even fairly easy since each video was the same length, and the angles didnt start in the middle of the video, they went from start to end.

I'm having problems with the extras disc of ice age.... the ifoupdate chapters file gives me chapters longer than the video stream itself... can you descrive how you did it in maestro?

Thanks.

Sorry bud, I didn't use Maestro, I used Scenarist.

Ifoupdate gave you chapters longer than the chapter file? That doesn't make sense. IFOUpdate doesn't give you chapters, it simply copies the data of the new ones you create after reauthoring into the original .ifo of the VTS. If, when authoring, you create more chapters than the original you'll have this issue. Also when using Maestro, you have to use the Maestro mode of ifoupdate. Other than that, I couldn't tell you. I'm not a fan of Maestro and haven't used it for anything for over a year now. Scenarist is so much more proper for multi-pgc VTSes. Maestro does some weird thing where it makes an extra pgc or something.. I guess JDobbs is going to show us the 'workaround' for it in his guide. I prefer not having to 'work around' anything though, so Scenarist is my tool of choice!

Maestro does give you chapters. Jdobbs' method of using maestro for multiple pgcs requires you to save the .chp file using ifoupdate in maestro multiple pgc mode. It gives you the .chp file and a text file that shows you how to set up playlists in maestro to correspond with the pgcs of the origianal title set. This has worked several times for me on various movies. However, the documentary movie of ice age on disc 2 has chapters in pgcs that exceed 1:04:00, which is the length of the encoded video stream. Strange....

Sorry I mean .. Ifoupdate gives you chapters that you use in Maestro.
