Hi All , I have followed the guide , but still cant seem to sort this Multi PGC out on Colateral Damage DVD.

-------
First i run Ifoupdate ( maestro multipgc mode)on vts2.ifo, to get chapter details ,shows 6 PGCs
DVD2AVI entire VTS2 vobs. , CCE - VTS2 video stream ( do not add chapters into CCE - ecl file)
get assets into Meastro , add 5 playlists, assign chapters as per guide.
Video stream = 1:46:38:12
audio streams 1- 5 = 1:44:33
audio stream 6 = 0:02:12
total chapters from INFupdate = 35( chapter 35 added at very end of stream)
compile VtS2 in Maestro
do Infupdate ( multiPGC mode) to orginal vts2 inf and newly authored vts2 from maestro
Infoupdate complains about the video stream being longer than the orginal, as well as number chapters being more than orginal ( 32), and bails out .
The chapter file created by Infupdates is as follows
PlayList #2 ( PGC #2) {Vob sector 0 )
00:00:00:00
Playlist #1 ( PGC #1) (vob sector 3801)
00:00:12:20
etc
01:40:26:08 ( 32 entries in this PGC)
Playlist #5 ( PGC #5) ( vob sector 3801)
- this playlist uses the chpater points in Playlist #1
Playlist #6 ( PGC #6) ( Vob sector 2760891)
- 01:44:33:00
Playlist #3 (PGC #3) ( vob sector 2805083)
- 01:46:38:13
Playlist #4 (Pgc #4) ( vob Sector 2805083
- Playlist uses the same chpater points as PGC #3

( do not add chapters into CCE - ecl file)
Are u sure about this !!! I thought you are supposed to add the chapter points to the ecl file!!! Maybe someone else can back me up on this or correct me!!!!

i would not have thought that would matter ,as maestro does not link the chapter points within the CCE produced video file , to chapters made within maestro.
Unless i am wrong.

Since the original has 6 PGCs you need to create 6 Playlists, then use the "Maestro Multi-PGC Mode" when you update. Otherwise you will end up with a first PGC that has 35 chapters followed by the 5 you created. Each playlist should correspond to the chapters outlined in the README file.
Even if you did use the correct mode, when you created 5 PGCs in stead of 6 the update is off by one, you would try to put 32 chapters in an area that only had space reserved for one!

Thanks Jdobbs , creating 6 playlists helped a lot, the movie chapters are corect and working.
However the the trailer which is at the end of the movie , has the correct chapter point , but no audio.
The audio file was extracted as track 6 from DVD2AVI and is of the correct length of the trailer.
When puting the assets on the time line i placed track 6 into Maestro as track 6 and complied , then used INFupdate , which created a warning - indicating that the size of the trailer track was not of the same length(1 second differance)
any thoughts why the trailer track did not play at all ?

I just started using Maestro/CCE/IfoUpdate method.I'm a little confused about creating the playlists. How do you do this in Maestro or do you let IfoUpdate take care of it?

You do it in Maestro by right-clicking on "Movie1" and selecting "Create Playlist" -- double-click on the playlist and you can add chapters to it.

Thanks. I was doing a little digging around and couldn't find much. Damn, this multi-PGC stuff is a little crazy. I guess I better understand now why some of my movies don't work the way they're supposed to.

Where in VTS_x.ifo , are the commands that select the audio streem required.
I have been tring several ways to get the 6 track ( movie trailer ) to play . the chapter index is correct at the end of the film , i placed the 6 track ( trailer track ) in maestro on the 6 track point , but at the chapter index 34.
When i go to set comentery as part of the options ( comentry works fine) but when i go back to menu and select trailer , the sound for the trailer works fine.
so some where i am not setting the track up correctly for PGC6 , but it is fixed when selecting other menu items.
any ideas where to look for this little fix in the generatated ifo.
regards thanks

for those following the thread, the problem lies in the Maestro generated inf , in that the PGC6 in section VTS_PGCITI of the authored VTS after IfoUpdate process has setting for all audio tracks and only track 6 or (85) is required . Reviewing the orginal VTS_x.ifo showed that only track 6 settings were placed in PGC6 .
When all other tracks except 6 were set to 0 the trailer audio worked fine.
I hope this helps someone else , it may have just been this movie/PGCs . I am not sure
Thes mutli PGC's are really harder then they look.
