ok, so i captured DV via firewire and would convert to DVD mpeg2 using cce. but when i burn to DVD and view on the Tv its jittery. like the interlaced frames are not syncing up. and i tried just leting dvdit or somthing convert the avi and its fine. only when try converiting the avi to mepg with cce. tried a program stream and elementry stream singlepass, mpeg2 setting checkboxes with add swquence endcode, prograssive frames, liniear, zigzag, and dvd complaint on. no uppoer field first. quality setting at 5, no noise filter.

any ideas?
thanks

its the classic CCE field error problem.

do a search, and read the FAQ, the field setting is somewhat broken in CCE and the work around has been mentioned lots of times.

I've noticed this myself when bringing DV into CCE. Just set the "Upper Field First" checkbox on the video dialog. It fixed the field problem for me.

The field setting in CCE isn't actually broken. They just do their field correction in a strange way. Instead of using the flag, CCE swaps the top/bottom field lines depending upon the checkbox -- and then always creates the video with TFF set.

But I think my DV video is always bottom field first...
when i use the wizard in TmpgEnc it always detects that its bottom field first.

Yes. But if you're getting the jittery image it is backwards on your output. CCE only outputs Top Field first so setting the flag makes the field change.

The other option is to run PULLDOWN.EXE on the resulting file and have it change the TFF flag.
