Juddering AC3

I've used DVD2AVI to obtain my demuxed AC3 file from SWEPII, The problem is when I play it through Power DVD, it sounds like a scratched record. I've tried doing it a few times now but keep getting the same result, getting stuck in several places. It is far worse at the beginning during the musical scores and actuaaly unnoticeable when the main dialogue starts. Any ideas?
