What settings should I use to enconde the dvds ?
At the moment I'm using version 2.50 and guide myself with doom cce guide. But now there some new options that I don't know how or if I should used them.

Could some one help me, by telling which setting should I use in, for example, "Quality". What should I check or not ... and some other stuff in other options that u could think it can improve quality.

I think I can manage well "Video" and "Enconde Setting", but some doubts in "Quality".

Btw, why there isn't an updated guide based on the new versions of CCE, like in gordian knot and other encondig soft, when their out?

Btw, why there isn't an updated guide based on the new versions of CCE, like in gordian knot and other encondig soft, when their out?that one concerns me. Basically I have very little free time and so far the 2.66 versions haven't been too convincing and plagued by bugs. And then there's the limitations in the demo which go a lot beyond what prior versions had.

Doom9 in terms on limitations, the only extra limitation in the demo now as compared to 2.64 and earlier is the lack of ECL support. It was only in the first 2.66 demo that the advanced image settings were disabled.

I'm not suggesting you should write a guide, just saying that I think 2.66 is perfectly usable =) Would be nice if I could understand all the image settings though, I just have the newer settings disabled because that way I can't do any harm =)

The lack of .ECL support is problem, it you are going to re-encode DVD - you can not set chapter points for encoding from ChapterExtractor. To do it manually for more than 20 chapters in the movie is boring.
Another thing which is ommited in trial is (according to Readme) "Framewise quality settings" - AFAIK that means, you can not set different quality settings for some part (range of frames) of video material.

As far as I know version 2.66.01.07 (patched trial) offers more in every aspect than any earlier versions (like 2.64, 2.62, 2.5) with the documented exception of ECL support. The "Framewise quality settings" is a feature of the full 2.66 and is not implemented in the trial version. Having said that, this feature was never part of the earlier versions trial or full. As we all know version 2.66 is a complete redesign, the earlier updates were small changes comparing to the changeover from 2.64 to 2.66. In my opinion, version 2.66 is better than the earlier ones though I like them all. The above is only my opinion and others might think differently. Also it is important to know that I based my opinion on Cinemacraft's performance of encoding DV (PAL) to MPEG2 (PAL) for DVD using CBR and VBR (3-5 passes) as I never used CCE SP for other purpose.
