Hi All,

I couldn't find a solution to my problem with a search so I'm posting anyways.

I'm trying to make DVD backups which contain the main movie and Dutch subtitles (mostly 0x23).
So I use DVD2SVCD to get the desired AC3 file and transcoded MPV file.
After that I use VobEdit to demux the desired subpicture stream (mostly 0x23) and after that I multiplex the whole bunch with IfoEdit 0.95.

This works great, but I keep having subtitle problems with 75% of the movies I do. Like with The Story Of Us, The Count Of Montechristo the dutch subtitles work fine, but at 50% of the movie, they disappear.
What is causing this problem?

Hello Cusem,

Here the same problem. Maybe it is accidental, but I also want to save the Dutch sub.
I use VobEdit to extract the sub and use the ac3 file made by DVD2AVI. Re-encode to movie with CCE and build the new movie with IfoEdit 0.95. The movie play's fine (so with sub) until ± 50% of the total length. After that the sub disappears. Is this a known problem? How to solve this?

plz....anybody any answer to this problem? Digged through the forum for ages, but still haven't found any answer.

I guess the problem lies in authoring the dvd with ifoedit 0.95. Or anybody else thinks the error is in ripping with VobEdit 0.6????

Do you get any error while authoring with IFOEdit ?
I've had similar problems with some movies (e.g., Star Wars I and II)
because the subtitles have 2 different stream IDs, and since I used
only one of them, I got an error half-way through.
In the end, I remuxed the re-encoded MPEG-2 file with the original
VOB streams I wanted to keep and it worked fine.
One word of caution, though. I have no experience with CCE since
I use TMPGEnc, but in this case I had to create the template
with IFOEdit 0.88 otherwise the re-muxed movie is completely
screwed up after the first couple of minutes.

Hope this helps.

hi,

disappearing subs can be caused by vob id changes.
