CCE And Vaf File

ive creatored a m2v file and a vaf file.with a single pass.
now i would like to run a multi pass overnight,im i right in thinking
i would just fire up cce(before i go to bed) load up the m2v file i made with the single pass.
select how many muli passes i want, say 2 passes ajust the bitrates to suit ect.then just encode.
cce will then pick the info from the vaf file from the single pass,then just carry on till finished.

is this right or iam i wrong

Mostly right.

You don't load the encoded m2v file as your source. In fact, you can delete that if you want. You reload the original source you used to create that vaf and m2v, and simply tell CCE to encode with multipass settings. It will use your .VAF file and encode your source to a new m2v file.

You don't have to manually create an m2v file and VAF file before starting the multipass encoding process. This is only necessary if you want to use the advanced option where you manually adjust the bitrate. If you simply want to do multipass encoding then select this option in CCE. It will do 1 pass and create the .VAF file and then it will immediately start encoding the final m2v.
