Hello to all,
Did a good rip of Star Wars 2.
Selected the first angle, English 6 Channel audio and Dutch Subs.
Movie and audio are running fine -> no problems.
However, I don't get the Dutch subtitles.
Tried with Smartripper and DVD Decrypter 3.1.4.0. but I don't get any subs !!!!!
Tried also a full demux and a DVD Author with Ifoedit 0.95 but no go.
Can anyone please help me ?????
Best regards,
Kenwood

Hello Ronald,
Hope it's allowed because main language is English on this board.
Ik probeer een back-up te maken naar DVD, geen SVCD.
Also, there are multiple pgc's in this movie.
Can't figure this one out !
Best regads,
Kenwood
P.s. Ronald, laat het ff weten als je een Nederlands Doom9 forum hebt !

Maybe this thread needs subtitles too :D
I had no luck with the (English) subtitles on Ep2 either, I was pressed for hdd space & time so pressed on without them, from memory there were 4 English subtitle streams.

Both Star Wars movies seems to have a lot of trouble. First you can not use ReMpeg, now there are problems with the subs. I have tried several ways of demuxing the subs (smartripper, DVD decryptor, Vobedit) but no succes.
I have compaired the IFO's that are on the original DVD with the IFO's made by IfoEdit and there is some difference concerning the subs.
In the original IFO there are the values 4 and 5 mentioned while in the remuxed IFO these are all 0. I do not know how to correct this, anybody any idea?

The problem with EP2 is that the movie only has english subs (full) and the rest of subs strems are secondary(some parts of the movie only)
I backed up EP2 with ReMpeg2 ( Spanish SoundTrack and Spanish Secondary Subs)

Mijn verhaal tot succes........:D
My story to succes
Derde Video_TS.Ifo ..VMGM_MAT...First Play PGC....nieuw Pre commando
en laten beginnen bij het menu (root) en hier kun je dan de ned. subs kiezen....
Tjeemig wat ben ik wazig vandaag......

Ok, also my fault to response in 1 Dutch sentence.
Won't do that again !
I also ripped the secondary subs but could not figure out what the Dutch sub. was.
Will try that, in the meanwhile, it seems something has to be modified in the VIDEO_TS.
TO CRAWL: Can you please explain (in step by step) how you did the trick ????
Ans please in English so that the other members can also benefit from it.
Best regards,
Kenwood

Sure i can translate.......
1th. Rip the dvd with decryptor (make sure that you select in FILE mode, retain angle 1....(this is where the stupid french translation will be removed) at least in my case...
2th. When files are decrypted...start up IFO en select rip vobid's en rip streams (when you want to keep the quality select rip to 2 dvd also). Do not let ifo make new ifo's but copie the original to the destination you select).
Check the vobids you need to rip i think it was 1,2,3,4,5 en select the audio en the subs you want to keep.
3th. When the new files are made go to the copied video_ts en select VMGM -> First play...go down to the pre command's en select the first command.....edit this one and let it start.......??????jezus i can't remember (i'll have to check it tonight, i'm at work at the moment  ) i think it was jump to titleset 1....but i'll check it for you....then check it on your PC.....(you have to go to the menu in the film to select the sub...)....this is the way i did it an this works fine.....
Any question....don't hesitate......

Yo Crawl,
Thanks for the fast reply.
Will wait until you know what the value of the jump was.
As I understand, after as you described, you will only have the movie, audio and subs but NOT the movie menu ?
I mean, you will have to select the subs on the remote of the dvd player ?
That's at least what I always do....and thats enough for me.
Again big thanks for the help m8 !
Cheers and regards,
Kenwood

I just (in the first pre command)
(JumpTT)Jump to Title 1
The movie start auto. , then i'll have to use the menu button on my remote to go to the menu...and there i'll have to select to dutch subs....
I tried and tried to get the subs automaticly but i haven't that figured out yet.....
I hope this will get you further......

Ok Crawl,
Current the system is resizing a movie so I will give it a shot tomorrow and let you know.
Two things:
1. Wat is the hex-code of the Dutch subs in the secondary subs ?
In the primairy it is 0x22, but the second ?
2. The JUMP command, do you change this in the VIDEO_TS.IFO or the ifo of the main movie file.
And can you tell me exactly where I can find that jump command ?
Best regards,
Kenwood

There was only one dutchsubs.....on the dvd so i can't help you with this one.
The jump command i did change in the VIDEO_TS folder (right mouse button and then edit)

I ripped EP2, but my subs dont work. I re-encoded the main movie angle 1 and put it back with the rest of the files worked perfect although my subs dont show. It tells me the bmp file name of the sub thats supposed to be used at that time. Any ideas?

Hello Crawl,
Sorry for the very late response, but have been very busy last past weeks.
Just corrected this post Crawl.
Stupid stupid me, forgot to select in the file mode tab of DVD Decrypter, when file ripping retain angle 1.
So for all other members: select the tab Tools in DVD Decrypter and click Settings, go to the tab: File Mode.
In the left column select: Retain Angle 1 when ripping in file mode.
All of a sudden you will see then when you rip now, DVD Decrypter will skip all the angle 2 sectors.
Still a question Crawl a few questions crawl:
- What VOB ID did you rip (are 1,2,3,4,5 the right ones)?
- Did you copy the original video_ts.ifo and vts_01_0.ifo to the ripped vob's or did you corrected them (exept the JUMP(TT) command witch I have found and did you copy other files to this dir ?
- When ripping VOB id in Ifoedit 0.95, can you tell me the settings in this screen you used ?
I'am getting close now and want this to work.
So, if you have some spare time, please ???;)
Best greets m8 and thanks for the patience and help !

Think I've done it, at this moment playing with English 6 ch surround and Dutch subs.
Just copied from the original DVD the video_ts.ifo/bup and the ones from vts_01_1.ifo to the dir I stripped to movie to with DVD Decrypter.
In Ifoedit 0.95 did a stream strip, and selected:
- Correct Original Ifo's
- Create new Ifo's (movie only)
- Remove IIvu/Angle pointer
Stripped with the English Surround and Dutch subs and it's running fine on the computer !
Still, have to test it on set-top player and I want to do a resize to fit on one dvd'r.
So.........I'll be back,
Kenwood
P.s. Remember in DVD Decrypter -> go to the tab: Tools
Select: Settings
Select: File Mode
In left column select: Multi Angle Processing -> Retain Angle 1 in Vob's
Good luck to all !
