Hello,
I'm trying to build a backup station for our small office using 6xPioneer A104. Unfortunately, I can't found an IDE controller which can handle my additional A104 drives properly. For example build-in HighPoint's RAID controller doesn't recognize them at all. Promise's UltraTX2 goes a little bit better- drives are recognized at a boot time but after that XP can't access them at all (disk not found bla bla bla)
So, at this moment my configuration looks like this:
4xA104 hang on on-borad IDE0 IDE1 channels and two mirrored HDD hang on on-board RAID controller (ABIT MAX motherboard)
How can I add the rest of my drives to PC ? Which IDE controller should I use ?

TIA,
Burelom

quite strange that RAID controler cannot handle a DVD-R.
Did you check all the settings in the BIOS of the controller ?
Did you try to flash with latest firmware tour controller ?

I have a RAID ABIT (Highpoint) but my dvd-r is not pluged there.

Perhaps you can found some IDE-UDMA100/133 controller, not Raid, designed for people with old Motherboard and new disks. Not sure if it still exists.
