I'm not sure what the trouble is but there are a few movies I have that no matter the speed of the computer can I copy the movie back to the computer. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Disk did'nt record to begin with
cd-rom drive has broke
Disk has decayed , you used a sh*t/cheap make of cd ;)
You put the cd in upside down :):D
Your too impatient, wait!!! :P
Every 20/30 seconds you fall down a worm hole and go back in time :D
IDE cable is broken/old , replace

I can take other movies off discs from back then with no problem
My cd rom is fine
My computer is fine
Maybe you need to get a life and not pick on someone who has a problem.
that is the whole idea behind this place

I had one disc given to me that the movie couldnt be copied off the cd because some how a CRC error had occured near the end of the cd (actually during the credits) so using virtual dub, I loaded the file from the disc, selected direct stream copy and then only re-saved the actual movie back to my HDD before the point of the CRC error. The film was watchable up to the error from the cd but couldnt be copied directly without the technique i have used.

Hope this helps.

Dolly36,

You didnt post either an error message or a reason why it wouldnt let you copy it. You just stated that it wouldnt copy. Cypher was giving you suggestions as to how to fix it. When you are typing replies on message boards, you cant see the inflections in voices or facial expressions, so you dont know if the person is joking or being an asshole. Next time you have a problem and want help, dont be so VAGUE with your problem description and you will probably get the specific answer you are looking for. However, if you dont get the answer you are looking for, there is no need to flame the user that gave the answer, especially when YOUR problem description (or lack thereof) was the reason for not getting the answer you wanted.

Now, perhaps we could start over and you could be a little more descriptive so that we can help you fix your issues.

Sorry Cypher I did take offense and jumped to the wrong conclusion. The error I am getting is when it is about 5-10 sec before it is done coping and then you get the error pop up stating the file can no longer be copied as it has been moved or deleted. I thought maybe this had something to do the with how long ago we had put the movie on the disc but it doesnt seem to matter.:D
