View Full Version : bugs in IfoEdit0.95/vobedit 0.6

(mainly @Derrow)

Ifoedit bugs (0.95) I found:

- negative delays of audio leads to crash (and prior warning when trying to enter '-')
- adding .sup when ripped from a DVD where audio had neg. delay leads to buffer underuns (or alike, forgot exact term), even stops complete process. Any idea to resync the subs? I haven't found tools to edit .sup.

It would be nice if IfoEdit could have a delay parameter for .sup and negative delay support for audio. (Currently I am cutting away AC3 frames to get it in sync).

vobedit bugs (0.6) I found:

- won't properly work with (chain of) VOBs if names are other than VTS_xx_x.VOB.
- delay of audio is reported incorrectly (when compared to DVD2AVI)

Another option I would like to see in vobedit would be choosing which vob/cell ids to process, ie.: 2001 has following ids:

1 - warner logo
2 - movie
3 - movie
4 - trailer

So to get the movie I first had to split via vob id, than rename (see bug), and then demux stuff after del'ing id 1 and 4. I needed ac3 and m2v and sup each in one piece.

Great tools indeed, so I hope you can improve them. Could you (or anybody else) tell me how to convert .rawsub (created by Smartripper) to .sup (created by VobEdit)? I compared them in an hexeditor and the only difference I found was some additional bytes here and there in the .sup. I would rather use Smartripper to get out the streams as it is MUCH faster than Vobedit. Speed as such is a problem with Vobedit and IfoEdit. It takes ages (even using two HDs for read and write), but well, right now making it a reliable authoring tool probably has more importance than speeding things up.

Thanks and keep your great work up! :)
