i've just resized some DV footage to 480x560 & deinterlaced in virtual dub. I now plan to use CCE to do a 3 pass VBR mpeg2 encoding, any tips when dealing with DV footage?
What i realy would like is just to be able to use dvdtosvcd as the tool to convert my dv avi's is this possible?

Are you going to create an SVCD? If yes, your resolution should be either 480x576 (PAL) or 480x480 (NTSC). DV resolution is 720x576 (720x480). You should not resize during editing.
You'll need a VfW DV codec installed to decode your DV AVI. You can easily use DVD2SVCD; I recommend to de-interlace using Fielddeinterlace() from Donald Graft's Decomb package. There are many options of using further AviSynth filters to improve the quality, but that would exceed the purpose of my post (helping you out with the first steps).
You may want to have a look at the DV forum here on this board.
