Been through the forum last week or so and didn't see anything addressign this specificly.

How much space do you realisticly get on a +R and a -R Are they the same?

trying to burn 4.5 gig of data and nero says i'm over shooting my target by about 30 meg, says disc (fuji dvd+r) is 4.470ish (In dvd video mode)

Spruce up reports free space in the project, but i get a disc error when it tried to start burning it, no specific error, but might be capacaty.

Whats the deal?

it's 4.7 billion bytes which makes it about 4.34GB the way Windows calculates filesizes.

I use spruceup a lot, and haven't really noticed this problem..but then i don't use spruceup to burn dvd's.
what you could do is use spruce up to generate a video_ts set, and then open up the main ifo file in ifoedit and use ifoedit's built in file size checker. it'll tell you if it will fit on a dvd-r/+r or not

uh huh...*sigh* guess those extra 24 bytes per thousand add up quite a bit after a few million :-)

still...9 episodes a disc isn't bad :-)
