Used Smartripper to extract the movie only files to my HD. It said that VTS_08_0 - VTS_08_5 are the movie files. PLus there are the VTS_08_0.ifo/.bup files and VIDEO_TS.ifo/.bup/.vob file too. But when i open the file in IFOedit and click DVDplay it shows Failed to get chapters error. I have also stripped extra audio/subtitles which then brought it down to 4.1gigs. I choose Get Sectors but still get the Chapters error when trying to play the files. What am i doing wrong? please help

Play the orginal ripped movie in Ifoedit, let it play until the movie begins, then exit ifoedit, it will list what titles it just played, those are the titles you will need to having a working dvd. Besides the movie files of VTS 08, you will need whatever else infoedit shows after hitting exit. Hope this helps.
PS You should rip ALL the files with Smartripper, not just the main movie to your HD, then try this method above.

Alternatively delete all files apart from the main movie vobs, so thats VTS_08_01.vob onwards, then rename them all to VTS_01 etc and then use IfoEdit to create Ifo's for you.

OK i ripped all files to HD. Stripped extra audio, subtitles, etc. Renamed VTS_08_0 to VTS_01_0. Made sure my VIDEO_TS.ifo/.buf/.vob files were in the folder and it played! BUT when i opened STOMP(as i used before to burn the VIDEO_TS folder) it kept erroring out when i hit the record button. The VIDEO_TS folder is only 3.94 gigs. I also tried PrimoDVD and did the same thing. I tired Nero and it burned it but wont play in my HOme player. Not sure why STOMP canceled the burn. I guess i'm gonna try it all over again.
Whenever i played the ripped files in IFOedit. It started with the FBI warning screen then started right into the movie which is fine. Seems that everything is mostly right. Except STOMP sees something in those files that must not be right. Any ideas????

did you use ifoedit to create an image file? then burn the image file using your buring apps.

No i didnt make an image. I didnt have to before. I did Christmas Vacation and Hoosiers w/o making an image file. I just burned the VIDEO_TS folder with STOMP and both work perfect. Thats why i dont understand wy it wont work with this DVD.
