Well I've tried Xvid before (Sept's stable build from umaniac's site) and I didn't get good results. Well with YV12 coming and Xvid being the only codec supporting it, I decided to try Xvid again. I'm glad I did.
I'm just making random frame comparison from a avi made by Divx5 and Divx and Xvid outputs are very similar. There are some differences but I doubt I recognize them with each frame moving at 24fps.
Also, Xvid filesize is 17mb less than Divx5 so that's all good as I'm aiming for 3 episodes/CD.
I'll test it again tonight. I'll keep my fingers crossed. :)
Thanks to the developers (Koepi and Nic and others)
