Ok. I captured a 48min 20.2gig AVI file using ATI All In Wonder card and Virtual Dub. The settings in Virtual Dub are: Huffuv,720*480, 29,97fps, PCM 448000 Max audio. At first there was no fram dropped but about 20min or so frames started to drop really fast....why ??? When I stop capturing at 48min, my "dropped frames" are up to ~~2500-3000...??? Why is that ?? It only started to drop around 20 min into the movie.... I think because of that drop frames that's why my video plays kinda slow with WMP/PowerDVD ??? And beacuse of that, my audio is out of sync. like 1 or 2 sec behind the video....??? What should I do know...?? change my codec ? change to another capture software ?? turn off previewing while capture?? boost up fps from 29,92 to something higher to solve the "slow video"?? Or just capture like 20min each file to solve the "drop frames"??? PLEASE HELP>>>!!!

If you go from writing to a large blank section of disk to a section that is heavily fragmented, you'll start to loose frames. So if you dont already, always defragment before capturing. Or better yet capture to an empty drive. Also make sure you have the video buffer settings pretty high. (In settings and disk-io)
Also, do indeed have preview turned off during capture. Every little bit of processing power helps.

Ekin, your system configuration itīs great for capture. In my opinion, the problem itīs Windows XP. I have many troubles whit him when i work with videos. For example: I captured Metallica - Fuel. Windows XP: Audio of sync. Windows 98 SE: All OK. Why donīt you try use Win 98 SE?(sorry about english, iīm brazilian). And drooped frames, 1 drooped for 1000 captured itīs perfect. In my opinion, the solution for you itīs test video with Win 98 SE.
