No, both DVD-R/RW and DVD+R/RW max out at 4.7gb. The discs you might see advertised as 9.4gb are double-sided DVD-R's (4.7 each side).

Do a search and you see there was a great debate about whether or not double-layer DVD-R was ever going to happen....

But today, your answer is no.

So the DVD disks that corperations use to put DVD movies on are larger then normal, and not availble in the private sector at all? But that ruins all the fun...

No. They DVD video from studio are not burned on DVD-+R but pressed on DVD9.

Not the same technology.

And the fun is to be able to put a DVD9 to one DVD5 without any loss (I mean no loss that a human can detect, because of course you loose about 4,7Gb of informations)
