im using DRF analyser on a rip, done with GordianKnot

a few lines from the report:
there are MANY frame dropps (493)
...
DRF8: 135
DRF9: 0
DRF>9 6
Max DRF: 16
Std deviation 0:99
Kilobits per Second: 903.09
Kilobits per Frame: 36.12
Kilobits per Macroblock: 0.061
Bits per Pixel: 0.24

the frame dropps fall together with black parts in the picture, so i guess this is quite normal? when i use nandub and browse throught the divx up to those frames, i see something like " Frame 26296 (0:17:31:840) [D] [20]" : this means a Dropped frame right? but why does it mention a compression of [20] ? my drf report did not include this?
for the record: im trying to avoid DRF's above 8 or to minimize their existence. AND then rip does look ok.

thanks for any clearing on this.

Hi-

Sorry, but I can't help you with the DRF Analyzer. Never used it.

However, one way to avoid high DRFs (assuming your Compress Test results were within the recommended values) is to disable Luma and Motion Correction in the Stats File Editor Tab of GKnot, and maybe to boost the minimum F-Size also .

Another would be to enter the modified stats file and ECF manually into Nandub before running the second pass, and to adjust the min-max DRFs yourself in the Compression Levels Tab of Nandub.
