My computer is:

Athlon XP 1800
Motherboard ECS K7S5A
20 GB HD (7200 rpm)
Windows XP Pro
SoundBlaster Live MP3 (sound card)
PixelView PlayTV Pro Revision 8E (capture card)

I have two problems in my computer:

1- ) Original WDM driver:

I can capture only at 29.97 fps. Any WDM program can't down to 25 fps (desired rate).
I am using the latest version of original driver.

2- ) Btwincap driver:
I can set to 25 fps but only in iuVCR with Master Stream = Audio and set the two last check box of configuration TAB.
In other programs, when I set master stream = Audio, with 25fps, the audio is very fast and end at the middle of final video. If master stream = Video or None, the capture rate returns to 29.97 fps.

Eduardo (btwincap maker), told me to capture without sound. I do it, and the final video had 25 fps in any situation. With this information, he told me that is a sound card driver problem. Is that true? Anybody have this sound card?

I have other problem with btwincap driver. I am using the btwincap since 5.2.8 version, and I have updating to latest version when Eduardo releases it (today is 5.3.5). Recently, I can't capture with more than 20fps, because the driver lost many frames. When I down the video resolution from 1024X768 to 800X600 the problem decrease but I still have this problem. I tried all thing that I know (decrease sound acceleration, decrease directdraw acceleration, change compressor) but I didn't have any results. I decided to return the orginal driver but I have the problem of can't change fps in any program. When the version 5.3.3 releases I install again and the problem disappear. After two days the problem returns! Since this version I can't using btwincap because I have this problem.
I think that is a lost of signal. The driver can't get data from card, because the image shake in vertical and horizontal.

A tip: Before I install the version 5.3.3, I was update my windows xp with service pack 1 and all returns to normal. I changed some windows configurations after install SP1 (I read www.tweakxp.com and maked some changes in register (large cache, unload dlls and other things). After this changes the problems returns but I think that is a coincidence, because I return the configurations to windows default, and I still have the problems.

Anybody help me? I want to use btwincap again!!

Sorry for my poor english ;)

avi stands for AudioVideoInterleave
obviously audio has some saying on the framerate too
if indeed you have ok framerate without audio that
tells a lot.......obvously s.card fluctuates audio frequency
too much and video can't keep up with it so dropped frames occur

i have simillar capture card (pixelview pv-bt878p,no tuner on this one
only bt878 chip) and no problems whatsoever....
(i815mobo,cel600,SB PCI128 soundcard....)
in win98 and in win2k it works fine...only i haven't found proper
wdm capture program that would make nice segmentation (i'm on FAT32)
VDub and win98 are my ultimate capturing system....

btw.have you tried using VDsync?
it's VD version with advanced sound/video syncing options..
you will need wrapper to run it on wdm system (winxp)....
try that first.....

also to the best of my knowledge picvideo mjpeg is fastest
(and it won't bitch on you if you if you don't pick RGB color..unlike
leadtools mjpeg) mjpeg codec and i can capture 720x576 on my system
without significant frame drops.......

cheers
