Render subtitles to video stream

I need to have the subtitles come out without any extra configuration, meaning that the subtitles need to be rendered into the DVD's video stream. How do I combine the two as it gets encoded to DivX? Note: I use DVD2AVI 1.86.

You might try using a slightly different encoding method. The Gordian Knot encoding suite -- which uses DVD2AVI for both frameserving and .ac3 sound demuxing, although it requires DVD2AVI 1.76 -- includes Vobsub, and can keep subtitles separate, or else "burn" them into the DivX video through an AviSynth filter.
