Now here is the chance to prevent 2.20, 2.21, 2.22, ... coming out just after 2.19 in a few days :)
VobSub_2.19.exe (http://vobsub.edensrising.com/gettest.php/VobSub_2.19.exe)
DVobSub_2.19.exe (http://vobsub.edensrising.com/gettest.php/DVobSub_2.19.exe)
There were a few things I couldn't test myself:
vobsub:
- correctness of the timing of NTSC/multiangle/seamless branching sources.
- indexing ripped/stripped vobs in any form.
dvobsub:
- a few new tweaks added to be more compatible with different players, I have no idea what it broke :)
subresync:
- Now OCR should really-really not detect whole words as one, but nothing is certain of course :)
Thanks in advance for testing it

Are you already working on a version which supports AviSynth 2.5 in YV12 (vobsub/textsub plugins)? That would be very nice :)

Hi,
Thanks.
I have a problem ripping subtitles for movie Insomnia.
Don't know if there was this problem
- correctness of the timing of NTSC/multiangle/seamless branching sources.
- indexing ripped/stripped vobs in any form.
but vobsub generated vts_04_0.sub+idx have empty subs.
This version fix this?
Thx

Wilbert: Sorry, I haven't looked on your page since then. Has anything changed in the direction I recommended?
cbwarz: Maybe, the indexing function was totally replaced in this version.

You should ask Sh0dan about that, since I don't know what you discussed with him (although he said something about it here in the forum) ...

There is just one thing I need to know about 2.19.
Is the width of the outline of subs in textsub scaled (as started in 2.18 and caused me a lot of problems before I noticed what was going on) or pixelsized (as it should be according to the ssa standard).
I remember someone said there was a reason for the scaled ones, but I forget what it was.

No, it is turned off again, but there will be a new command to active it. I only changed this because when using it for subtitling in mpc, those thin borders became almost invisible on my monitor (1280x960).

btw... somehow I can no longer open rar'ed subs anymore...and then I check the directory, unrar.dll is not there. Does that means dvobsub no longer support rar'ed sub or it's just my problem?

unrar.dll Should be installed in your system dir. Posibilty's why you can't use rar anymore is maybe you compressed them with 3 and somehow and old unrar.dll is being used.. only thing i could think of. Unless of course rar support is broken. :D

I still get an error of "Key NOT found! (possible reasons: unencrypted dvd / locked dvd / vts_0x_x.vob too short)", want me to send anything to ya?

Now it should handle vobs on the hard disk much better, you don't need to index it from the dvd anymore. The only case when it will fail is those multiangle dvds. I confused them with program chains a little..., but two guys have already told me about it and even sent me ifos to test. Next time the angle will be selectable too.

Oh, I was doing it strictly from the dvd itself. I don't rip movies to encode. So ripping it to hard drive and then vobsub it from it is is a much longer way then just doing it from the dvd. I was hoping that you were working on the decrypting process.

okay, the close caption didn't work. It is outputting garbage.

vobsub.dll version 2.0.19.0 will output correctly with CC but doesn't work with some of the indexing that is ripping to the hard drive.

Please send me the *.cc.raw file you got after indexing.

No need to rush, I found the problem.

So you dont need it? That would save me some time to rip it to hd from dvd once more. :)

ok I found unrar.dll =)
but I still can't read the rar'ed subs (yes, I used winrar3.0 to compress them)
Crest8.ogm
Crest8.rar (Crest8.sub Crest8.idx)
I've uninstalled 2.19, boot, and re-install 2.20 still don't work

kxy: No, I won't need it, thanks.
hayami: Only rar the sub.

I ran into two quite strange problems with VobSub 2.20.
I got some Star Trek Episodes with subtitles in .sub format, the .sub is rar'ed. When watching those episodes, i get a severe crackling noise in my speakers. this is the case with all episodes. When removing the sub files (.idx + .rar) from the directory the movie plays fine. Now the strange part: This doesn't happen with another (totally different) movie I tried.
Now I thought there might be a problem with the .mp3 files so I wanted to demux the audio with graphedit. When connecting the audio out to the dump filter, the graphedit graph completely dissappeared. Im mentioning this because with Vobsub 2.18 the demuxing works fine.
However, there's also some crackling with v2.18, although it's not as bad as with 2.20.
I can't make a rhyme out of this, maybe you do.
