Even though it's basic the sticky about older xvid encodes possibly not being playable with the newer codec has been removed.

Earlier I tried to watch one of my encodes with the newer codec but it wouldnt run. I could encode new stuff no problem, but I'm wanting to know if there is any workaround.

Are the newer builds compatable with older encodes? I've only found vauge responses on the forum so far.

It depends on the features you used in the older encodes.

You are better off playing old content with ffdshow really.

Thanks again for your reply bro.. Every time I ask questions that should be common knowledge here you always help me out. My problem is that the replies that I find via search are usually vague since it's hard to find a topic on this with keywords.

Much Appreciated. ^_^

Only reason why I asked was because last time I installed xvid on my computer with a newer codec it was very bad.

Luckly Nic's latest build seems to be working seamlessly. I love his codec.
