From Sony:
Firmware 1.0d will improve read and write speed on DRU-500A. It will also provides enhanced writing compatibility with DVD recordable/rewritable media.

does any sony dru-500a owner out there already tried to downgrade back to version 1.0? i wonder if that is possible. if so, then sony's firmware policy is certainly more customer-friendly than pioneer's... :(.
