I have read that PBC Selection can cause subtitle problems when playing SVCD on stand alone DVD player. I have ELTA8891. In other thread I-author and mux is recommended with the beta version to fix the problem. I tried that, but beta DVD2SVCD stops when running I-author with error. I tried VCDEasy to make subtitle compatible chapters, but subtitles disappeared. The MPEG file was taken from muxed directory of DVD2SVCD and it has subtitles when no chapters is used.
So, please tell me if anyone of you have ever seen an SVCD with 2 selectable audio and 4 selectable subtitles and any type of chapters that worked on a standalone DVD player together.
I have a lot of SVCDs with perfect selectable audio and subtitles with a very good quality pictures but only when no chapters is used at creation.

Thank you for your response.

download the lastest full version here http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=15623 and see if that fixes your problem. 1 more thing if this dosen't fix the problem, post your log file for dvd2svcd as it can unlock some information needed to troubleshoot.

also do a search as you'll prolly find your answer with a bit of reading.

The first one (CAT DV-988) has an ESS-Chipset. The second one (Hiteker HE-1200) has a chipset, too. ;-) But I don't know which one, as I haven't opened it yet.
