Could someone please explain to me why it is bad
to use CCE versions other than 2.50?
Please avoid answers like 'its bad', 'you are an idiot',
'use the search button' and 'it doesn't work right'.
The reason i'm asking is because while using DVD2SVCD
with CCE, it uses very little cpu power on my dual athlon.
So i was hoping that maybe newer versions of CCE supported
SMP better than version 2.50.

Its bad, you are an idiot, use the search button and it doesn't work right.
Honestly a search would answer your question.
Simply put 2.50 is the only version that can directly input AVS files until you hit the buggy 2.64.1. 2.64 often causes GPF errors and is definately not recomended being used in any way.
You can use 2.62 as long as you use "Safe Mode" which uses VFAPI. Only problem is that it's slow.
There is really no good reason to use any other version other then 2.50(unless you suffer from the infamous CCE freeze issue). 2.62 is simply audio bugfixes and we don't use CCE for audio.
I am not sure what 2.64 or 2.66 give you, but it simply doesn't work so it doesn't matter anyway.
2.66 is new and cannot be "fixed" like 2.50 or 2.62 can. DVD2SVCD must change the way it works for 2.66 to work with it. I heard a rumor that it's on the to do list.
SMP support is Moot anyway since the framserver must support it first and I do not think Avisynth does it or does it very well.

Even though you are very rude, you've fully answered my question.
I'll keep on using 2.50 then.

Forgot to add the smiley face.
I just took your own line and added it to my post. It's word for word what you wrote. I just took out the ' and such.
I often times try to have fun here is all.
