Hi! I'm kinda stuck on this movie, trying to backup Momento, too big for 1 dvd, not good enough to split. I ripped with smart ripper, stripped with ifo edit, still too big. So I used dvd2avi got a d2v and a wav, then used TMPGenc to create a dvd quality mpeg.
1: Can a standalone read this or do I still need to author it?

2: And if I do need to author how do I get an m2v not a d2v because both DVDMaestro and IFOedit want the m2v file??

Thanks for the assist!!

some standalones can play media files burnt to a disc (maybe cd only tho), and usually indicate on the front panel that its a mp3 disc. to do that you would have to mux the files together (which is possibly what you have from tmpeg atm anyway).

otherwise you will have to author the disc.

2) you have reencoded with tmpgenc and you say you have a 'mpeg file' which sounds like you have a .mpg that consists of a .m2v and a .m2a. tmpgenc mpeg tools can separate them (demux)
