Yesterday I for the first time experimented a little with DivX --> Svcd and after a lot of work I managed to produce good picture and good sound (used TMPGEnc btw). Burned it with Nero.

When I played it in my DVD-player (Pioneer DV-454) the picture looks good, but every now and then the sound gets weird for a while. Sorta crunching sounds in the background ...

So I put the disc in my computer and play it through PowerDVD. To my amazement the crunching sound weren't there.

So it plays fine in the computer but not in the DVD-player. I've tried using both TMPGEnc and Besweet to create the audio, but the problem is still there no matter which I used.

Anyone got any ideas how to fix this? Something I need to clarify?

Hi,
recently I experienced a simular problem with DVDx when converting DivX to SVCD. The solution was to lower the audio gain. I don't really know why, but it worked.

Good luck.
