I was surprised, you can get 10 packs of TDK or Verbatim for around $34 at Buy.com.

That's only $3.40 for jewel case name brand DVD-R's !

I'm not sure which are better, the verbatim's or the TDK's though

$3.40 is still pretty high imho.. I bought Verbatim DVD-Rs in jewel cases for around $2.60 and that price is for quantities of one (though buying more will not make it cheaper).

big CE chain which just happens to to be in the next town. Definitely no chance of getting any of these discs unless you live in my area... other stores by the same chain usually don't have the exact same offerings (either not the same product or higher prices). I wonder if they still have some when I go there again later that week.. I might pick up even more.

Well I got my order of 10 TDK's individually wrapped jewel cases from buy.com It came in real fast. Now that's a huge difference from meritline and their slow shipping!

Cheapest i have found +R media is at CompUSA. They usually have a special on one brand or another.

I have only bought memorex in the past (standard price is 3 for $10.99)

but saw some Phillups on sale for $2.36 per unit. Seems like each store has it's own specials.

Just checked Best buy and the Verbatim 15 pack is $34.99. Also looks like a $5 rebate is available until 11/23/02.
