Have no problem using Prassi Primo DVD (2.0.0.749), I tried using RecordNow Max 4.5 and my discs will not play on my Sony DVD player.

Results:

Prassi-everything default, burns image or Video TS folders fine and PLAYS fine on Sony standalone DVD player etc.

RecordNow-everything default, burned image or folders (tried several different discs and images/folders and same image and folders as Prassi and same exact media)well this one WILL NOT play on my Sony DVD player (does not even loadup)but will play on my computers DVR 104.

After several attempts only one difference the programs-RecordNow is supposed to be the same program as Prassi right?Anyone else have this problem?Just stick with Prassi you might say, I agree but soon (especially if I switch to the Sony recorder) my Prassi program will not be able to pick up the new hardware as all efforts have gone into RecordNow.

I have a Sony DRU500A 1.0g firmware but just upgraded to 2.0e. I have the same problem when I burn with RecordNow Max 4.5 . It works on my standalone but not that of my friends or brother's.

I had problems with both of those.... I found the easiest, yet least confusing (but a bit more time consuming) way is to make an image using ImgTool and burn with DVD Decrypter. Everything has been perfect using that method. :)

Sorry I can't really help you fix the others.

'RecordNow Max 4.5 settings guide'

Using the DRU500A with RecordNow Max 4.5, the burned backups play without any problem on the most troublesome players (fw 1.0f & 2.0e).
My experience is that while some players will play anything (like a DVD written with Nero 5.5.10.15), others players (e.g. PS2-station, an older Philips model) won't play this same backup at all.
Burn the DVD with RecordNow, and all these DVD-players will play the resulting backups happily!

Used RN settings:
> Data Disc
> Multisession: Load last track
> Options > DVD > Track at Once, Closed & UDF with Joliet

Note, that by saying this, I *do not* want to promote RN, as I think RN is not very user friendly at all; but this is another discussion...
