How can I open a VOB-file in DVD2SVCD? I don't have an IFO-file but it has to work anyway.

You can use any ifo file you like, just copy from an DVD.
Rename the IFO same as the vobs.
example: if vob are VTS_01_0.VOB then rename ifo to VTS_01_0.IFO
then continue in file mode in DVD2SVCD.

But the problem is, I have no IFO-file. I downloaded the VOB-file directly of the net.

What don't you understand about ANY? It doesn't have to be the same movie. It just has to be the same format IE. PAL or NTSC.
Just name it the same as the VOB, but with IFO as it's extension.
You can get this from ANY DVD you have laying around.

BTW we do not condone piracy of any kind. Just make sure that VOB you downloaded was of your Aunt Bessy's wedding.

As always, if you don't happen to have an IFO sitting around (though, who doesn't these days?), you can recreate it based on the VOBs using IFOEdit.

I have tried it but i doesn't work. The IFO file i load reads the file lenght as 2:40 when my vob-file is actually 30sec.
BTW the vob-file is just the THX logo, not an entire movie.

It will make no differens when encoding. DVD2SVCD don't use the info from the IFO file. just rename the files the same, load the IFO, start conversion. it'll work. if it don't work post your logfile using cut and paste.
