Audio and video not synced! Huge delay

I'm trying to encode a DVD that is 3 hours and 44 mins long. I'm experiencing a audio/video sync problem. It has like a 5 to 10 second delay which is super outrageous. This is the first time I have had problems with this. Could it be that the DVD is really long? I've tried the Q and A in the forum and it doesn't seem to work.

Did you rip the DVD with DVD2SVCD or some third party ripper?

If you used an outside ripper don't bother posting your logfile until you have started over with just the included rippers.
