Now is the time for the real magic! The ability to incorporate your new files back into the original DVD structure so it will be just like the original with menus and all! The first thing we want to do, in this example, is rename our authored VOB files to VTS_02 instead of VTS_01. They are going to replace the VTS_02 files in the original. DO NOT copy over the authored IFO file! DO NOT copy over the VTS_01_0.VOB file! Remove all of the original VOB files (You MUST leave the IFO file and the VTS_02_0.VOB files!) and copy over the new ones in their place

I pretty much understand everything that the previous paragraph said however my main movie file is already vts_02 so do i change it to vts_01 or leave it as vts_02 and erase the other files.

Any help is appreciated

OK, you have your original movie ripped on your hard drive and you have your newly authored vob files from Maestro. You only need to rename the new files IF the original movie file names are different. They should be renamed to MATCH the file names of the original.

All you have to do is delete the original movie vobs (Except the VTS_0*_0.VOB file and copy of the new ones you created (except the VTS_0*_0.VOB file) over. Run Ifoupdate and your set...

i know this is going to sound really stupid but i'm using the "DVD-9 to DVD-5 full copy" guide, and i'm at the part where you replace you're authored vob's with the origonal movie. that part i understand but i cant figure out how to save my authored vob's onto the hard disk so that i can swap them. I tried saving the file i created in maestro but it only gives me a Sonic DVD project file and no vob's. can anyone help me with my situation???

When you go to COMPILE, it creates the vob files during this stage.

do i replace the authored VIDEO_TS.BUP, VIDEO_TS.IFO, VIDEO_TS.VOB, VTS_01_0.BUP, VTS_01_0.IFO along with the other authored vob's except the vts_01_0.vob
Or do i just replace the authored vob's except fot vts_01_0.vob

Your question has already been answered. Just FYI though, you'd get a faster response (and would be following forum rules) if you made your post subject relevant to the question you had. Not just saying "I have a question". ;)

I'm also going to consolidate your threads since they are not only similar but share the same sort of ambiguous subject. Please try to watch this for the future. Thanks!
