Anyone know how to properly rip the popups subtitle track on the Spiderman DVD they call Spider Sense. I assumed it was just another subtitle track and ripped with the latest Subrip to .sst/.bmp but the timecode is not coming out right (the bitmaps came out fine, but Subrip is ripping the same graphics multiple times instead of increasing the amount of time the graphic appears on the screen). The popups are supposed to appear on the screen and disappear within a short time. When I ripped them the popups stay on the screen until the next one appears.

I had the same problem. I loaded the subtitles into Maestro and it kept sustaining the popups too long. I noticed that Maestro was repeating popups several times. I manually elliminated the duplicated popups and now it plays fine. Now if only i could get the spider sense icon/documentary thing to work.

I've got the same problem. Subtitles are copied multiple times, but that's not really the problem. My problem is that when they pop up, the whole screen goes white. I assume this is because my background is white, as if the bitmap created by subrip fills the entire screen as opposed to just showing the pop-up. As if there were no cropping around the core bitmap. I followed trilight's DVD 9 to dvd 5 guide, used subrip and maestro.

Bruce, how did you get it to where just the pop-up appears as opposed to the whole screen filling with the pop-up and a white background (or whatever color your background happens to be)?

Well, i just used the same method as you, subrip, select ifo, timecode = 0000, save images as bitmat, press ok, make sure cropping set to original position, style type is maestro, and pressed ok...
imported to maestro just fine.... except for the duplicating subtitles....strange that you just get white screen. Never seen that before.

I guess I'll try to re-rip the pop ups again. Have you seen this post:

it appears not all of the pop ups may make it onto the authored copy.
Did you set the width and height to 750x480 when you ripped?

Yeah, I haven't tried Brett's program. I was already done with my
numerous deletings when i read it. Too bad, sounds like a good solution. I don't know if it keeps the fading balloon effect though.

Resolution was 720X480... NTSC..

well there is nothing more to add to Brett's post except that I can offer u my maestro project of SpiderMan.

The fading effect of subs is a command that is supported in the stl format of Maestro. Don't know if this command works at the son format.

It goes like this
$FadeIn = 5
$FadeOut = 2

Cool thanks, learning more about that program every time.
