Convert Avi's to burn dvd to be seen on standalone player

I want to convert avi's to burn on dvd's and play on stanalone players. What guide can discribe the best way to do it. Can i add subtitles? thanks

Look in the guides section for a guide on dvd2svcd (it accepts avi input) or for another way, a guide called divx to svcd. If you want it on a dvd disc instead of a cdr then look in the dvd section also.
