after having gone through the forums and guides here, i still am having a sub problem.
here's what i'd like to do: i have some anime dvds that have about 3 or 4 episodes on each dvd. the thing is, these episodes are encoded on the dvd as one large movie instead of individually. now, i can manage to encode the first episode with subs perfectly. if i try any of the following eps., the subs are way off by the previous episode. that is, i get the subs from the first episode on the second/third/fourth episode. now i know you can use sub station alpha or the subresync tool in gknot to fix the exact times. but when it comes to either, i haven't a clue on how to use each of these to fix the times. and i was wondering if there is an easier way going about this.
SO, if i wanted to encode just the third episode with subs for instance, and i want it to be say, 233MB using gknot, what's the best way to do this? i've tried encoding all the episodes with the subs as one big movie, but when i go to cut them up to fit them on a cd, the file sizes vary greatly as well as the quality for each episode.
so what do i have to do to get a consistent file size as well as the proper subs for each episode???
by the way, i use gknot for the encoding.
