Here's one for you guys. I've recently got subrip and liked the idea of being able to change font to ones I like. Now the program works if the subtitles are one color and aren't an unusual font. As well as more than 2 lines long and located at the top of the screen. (It's automatically moved to the bottom and anything after 2 lines gets cut off.)
Ok, I've only come accross so far this problem with the latest DVDs from ADV Films. They use several different colors and fonts. Which throw subrip out of wack. First of all, inputing the characters is a snap, but because the fonts are a little wide, 't ext be com es li ke th i s'. That's not really a big problem, though it is annoying that I have to manually correct the spaces. (Seems the latest version has a worse problem with this as well as it doesn't seem to correct the "I" "l" thing too well like the earlier version did.) Now, the big problem is that when a subtitle is located higher than normal subs (usually the second color and is either a second person talking or translation to japanese signs) it throws it off. It says it's not like the other and asks what to do. I choose change color. (I don't mind the same color font.) Then I input the what each character stands for and then let it finish. Now when it's done. I have a really screwed up subtitles. I'm correcting a lot of space problems, spelling errors, etc. But like I said, the biggest problem is the location of where the subtitles belong on the screan. How do I fix that?
Hmm... Did anyone make sense of what I just wrote? Anyone have Steel Angel Kurumi disc one? This is the one I've been testing and it seems to not want to work right. I don't know anything about subrip, I've been using vobsub, that works, but I don't like the DVD fonts, so any help is appreciated.
