Is there a DVD2AVI/MPEG2DEC that works with mpeg 2 transport files. I
presently have to remux them and then use DVD2AVI to make the d2v file, them I have to convert it using VFAPI. I would like to skip the VFAPI step as it slows things down badly. The transport files are 4.2.2 mpeg. Any help is appreciated

The version in the save-oe SourceForge project can handle them, though you have to specify the video & audio PID's in the ini file.
I have test source and binaries at:
www.trbarry.com/DVD2AVIT3.zip and www.trbarry.com/MPEG2DEC2.zip
ATSC streams are not as popular on Doom9 so I didn't mention it here but anyone using my MPEG2DEC2 for HDTV streams should get the newer version listed above. Yesterday I fixed a bug that could confuse it when there were multiple video programs in an ATSC stream. The fix is not yet on Sourceforge.

I have got your dvd2avi to work on 4.2.0 transport files with ac3 audio, but I cant get it to work when the audio is mpeg(mpa). As for the 4.2.2 transport files they dont work with dvd2avi, yet I still have to use VFAPI or the d2v files have no color they are all green. Is there a way to get the mpeg audio to work, I really wold like to get that work

Are these Japenese transport streams with MPA? Someone else was trying to figure out what to do with these yesterday here (http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=222055).
And do you mean 4:2:2 (YUY2) files are all green? Where did you get those? I'd love to see a sample of one. There is theretically code in DVD2AVI to handle them but I don't know if it has ever been run before.
One thing that maybe causes an all green screen is if you use my DVD2AVI on a P4 but then use an old MPEG2DEC to try to decode it with Avisynth. If that was the case then just change IDCT to 2 in the .d2v file, or use a newer MPEG2DEC.

edit: I forgot. Older MPEG2DEC's can't handle transport streams anyway.

If you are not on a P4 try deleting the DVD2AVI.ini file, or changing the IDCT to 2.

I would like to send you a sample of the transport file that I am having problems with to see if you can get DVD2Avi to work.
Give me a shout back
