DVD2AVI problem

Greetings,
I am using dvd2avi to convert to avi through gordian knot. I ripped the dvd (Near Dark) sucessfully with no errors or broken blocks using smart ripper in Gordian K. When i open dvd2avi and choose to open the *.vob files a SPlashscreen appears that says "Crest National" rather than the usual blank screen before you play the movie. When i hit F5 the movie then goes to the middle of the main movie but the status bar at the bottom is still at the beginning. Im not sure if this is a problem with Smart Ripper or DVD2avi.

Welcome to the forums.

The first thing I'd check -- did you use SmartRipper in "Movie" mode? It will, by default, select Angle 1 of the longest program chain, typically the main movie.

Second thing I'd check, I'd run DVD2AVI's slider around, to see if the content looked like it was in the proper order. At the front of the content, does it look like the start? Are there end-credits at the end?

If not, I might open individual .vob files (rather than the string of them) to see if they are out of order. DVD2AVI will automatically "add" vob files in sequence, but you can delete them so only a single file is opened.

I'm guessing you may have made a procedural error in SmartRipper,(such as not using Movie mode, or selecting the wrong program chain), but without more information, anything is possible. The Preview (F5) command should start playing at the beginning of the first vob in the chain, if you didn't use DVD2AVI's "[" button.

I checked the movie mode and i know i had the right angle and program chain and still no luck. I did choose a seperate VOB file in dvd2avi but the screen pops up still.

I did try rippin each chapter individually and it works( No Splash Screen ) but towards the last 2 chapters 24 and 25, seem kinda weird.
I ripped them and tested them seperatly and worked ok. Everything synced up from the first chapters 1-23 and 24 then 25 (Credits).

The problem is now that when i do a rip on 24 and 25 and i append to the chapters 1-23, almost towards then end of the movie, a chunk of scenes are missing.
