Problem with CM 8738 and Divx with AC3

i have a soundcard with the 8738 mx chip and a digital in/out bracket
but i don't get a ac3 stream out to my receiver via the spdif coax output
with powerdvd and a normal dvd all works fine
but not with divx movies
i tried intervideo audio decoder and moonlight odio dekoda
i can choose spdif out but nothing happens
where lies the problem ??

I had some hard time getting my 8738 to work properly under Win98SE. I tried different versions of the C-Media drivers, but it works fine only with the 0632 from the original diskette that came with the card. Upgrading drivers causes various and unexpected issues on my system, sometimes really bad ones.

To put the long story short: try with other (maybe older) driver version. It might work :/

I have the same problems while using SPDIF output. But there are many things you can try.
Have you installed the filters correct? If you get no sound read the "AC3 Q&A" sticky and try to install the filters.
If you get stereo sound you have a problem like me. Look at the " AC3/DivX/AVI problems (again...)" thread. But there is no help... :(

yes i read the ac3 q a and i thought there was the answer but i was wrong i get nothing if i enalbe spdif out in the filter properties
i have to close the player an reopen to get sound only downmixed stereo
what card do you have exactly

it finally works
i got driver version 6.30 from another card
an now it works great
