Well, I just wondering ...

According to Everwicked guide for making DivX, there are only two options for interleaving when muxing audio and video and they are:

1. For MP3 - Preload=500 and Interleave every 2 frames
2. For AC3 - Preload is 250 and Interleave is every 64ms

In DSPGuru AC3 Q&A there are many options for preload and interleaving with AC3 based on source AC3 type and souncard, but neither 250/64.

What is the difference anyway?
Btw, I have about 20 movies with 250/64 and I have no problems no matter on what kind of soundcard I play them, or what is the source of AC3(384 or 448Kbps)

What is your private findings, and of course I'll be appreciated if DSPGuru tell us his opinion :)

I never change the settings when using MP3 sound, and it works perfectly.

For AC3, I use 96ms for both Interleaving and Preload, no matter what bitrate or how many channels the AC3 has and it works perfectly.

I have never used interleaving and preload for my AC3 file. That might explain why the movie is skipping frames :-(. The thing is that I have allready muxed the final file. Maybe I could use the direct stream copy but set the interleaving and preload to 96. lets see.........Yes perfect!

I'm using this great AC3 filter which you set lots of options for playback

Thanks for the info :D

if you have problems using other interleave values as 96ms in nandub try avimux gui. seems that the ac3 muxing in nandub is not perfect.
