I have a pinnacle pro-one capture card that came bundled with adobe premiere and
Pinnacle Impression dvd pro. I can capture fine, however, I cannot export anything
into the pinnacle MP2. I obviously need to compress the files from avi format, but every
time I try I get an error message saying "Error writing file (disk full?)" I have an 80 gig
with nothing on it that I'm trying to write to, with a clip only 3 minutes long....

I have tried to adjust every setting, but to no avail. I'd really hate to think I spent $900.00
on a system that isn't going to work for me, can you give me any advice?

Thanks,

Ok, well before we go into complex hypotheses about what could be causeing this issue, I must ask you (no offence!)- "Is your HDD partitioned?"

Mine is, and I find Premiere is really irritating in that (when it is outputting/rendering a file) it often tries to default to the same partition which Premiere is installed on. I know you can set the folders, supposedly "permanently", but I find I have to keep my wits about me, because if Premiere crashes (which it does with infuriating regularity on my system), it often doesn't remember that you altered it's default settings, so you try to render a file, only to realise that it's trying to render to the C:\temp directory, for example - AAARRGHH!!!!

If the above is not the case, then repost and one of us will try to suggest something else.

Thanks for the reply,

no, my hd is not partitioned. Here's the setup:

P4 1.8, 512 ddr, maxtor 40 gig (os) maxtor 80 gig (capture), Win2K, PRO One is in Top PCI slot, nic card is in the bottom and sb live is in the second to bottom, so I don't think there is any irq conflicts. Both hd's are NTFS, and the 80 gig I'm trying to write to is empty.

hope this helps....

Sorry, I'm afraid your reply got lost among the jumble of new posts, djtrixx (this forum moves so damn fast sometimes, i have difficulty keeping up with modding three sub-forums!) Did you find any solution to your problem?

Let me know how you got on.
