Pioneer A03 hack 4 all media

Probably behind on this one but not seen this hack before. Has anyone tried this firmware hack for the pioneer A03

Says that should enable 2x writing on all media. Not tried it yet but am on firmware 1.90 and this gives me 2X writing on Datasafe Classic silvertop and Whitelabel Gold edition, think this is because they are both RITEK made.

No, this can't be. DVR-A03 doesn't support 2x for Ritek with the official firmware.

Well dont know who they are made by but, the disks mentioned burn at 2X on my A-03. Can burn DVD-R in 25-30 mins instead of the usual 50-60 mins.

The link is just a hacked version of the official ver 1.90. But have not tried this yet

Then use ADVDInfo or cdrecord-prodvd to find out who the manufacturer is.

Read somewhere that those disks were made by ritek, but i now know the truth now.
