I followed the guides for getting the most out of CCE. In step 5 it says to use pulldown "pulldown input.m2v output.m2v". When I play "output.m2v" on DVD2AVI (F5),it constantly flips progressive/interlaced (very fast as in a blur). I read pulldown's guide and tried the command line option "-prog_frames p" and it then in DVD2AVI it stays solid progressive. Should I have also used "-prog_seq p" too?
Can anyone give me a better explanation (and when to use):
-norff (whats RFF?)
-tff
-prog_seq [p,i]
-prog_frames [p,i]
Thanks for all replys!

the purpose of pulldown is to create a 29.97 clip from a 24fps source, which is called telecine
i dont know if doom9 has a article talking about interlace/progressive/telecine, but the one on nickyguides is very good, have a read and it will explain to you why you are getting prog and interlaced every other frame.

If you're trying to burn for DVD use, your best bet is to use -prog_frames p (this marks all frames in the stream as progressive) -prog_seq i (mark the video sequence as interlaced - needed for NTSC) -drop_frame true (needed for subtitle sync).
-norff strips out the repeat_first_field flags which are used to add phantom frames to the video stream to convert from 24->30 fps. You don't need to use this unless you want to remove telecine from a 29.97 stream.
-tff (top_field_first) is used to set the field order. You never need to use this with telecine. You might need to use this if you've encoded an interlaced stream and you need to reverse the field order.
There should be a new version of pulldown.exe out soon with a -dvd_compliant option that should make life a lot simpler.

There is a GUI for Pulldown on this site. Is more friendly user than command lines...
