I need to translate a movie (a few) and the easiest way is to rip the english subs in text format and directly write over the old text with translated ones. After I rip and save in text format (OCR), in Scenarist format, Scenarist doesn't accept it. What am I doing wrong? I don't want to do it the hard way (not payed enough).

You have done it using SubRip?
If yes, Scenarist accept text input, but as .stl format. The .sst output used in SubRip is meant only for graphical output. It is not good idea to convert between textual and graphical formats :)
Try tool for converting srt subs into stl on MCPoodle's (http://www.sonic.net/~mcpoodle/Tools/) page.

I would suggest to rip the original in bmp, import them to Scenarist and create a new sub track that u insert the translated ones.
This way u'll have the originals on line for u to check the translation later.

That is one of hard ways. I have been doing that but want to speed things as much as possible.
