Sorry if this has been addressed before, but I couldn't find anything in a search.
I'm looking for a CPU test program that I can run in WinXP for a good length of time (about 48 hrs). I want something that will test a dual processor machine.
My reasons are because I'm getting errors when turning on dual CPUs and pipelines in TMPGEnc. I've talked about that here (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=34068).
This is what's under the hood:
Windows XP Pro w/ SP1
Dual Athlon MP 2000+ w/ Asus MB
512 MB DDR
ATI All-in-wonder Radeon
TMPGenc Plus 2.58
Thanks for your help,

WinXP pro
Dual AMD 2000's
1 gig of ram <-----ownt hehe just joking.
There is a program called prime95 that will run the ever loving mess out of your computer. However you could help out society and fold protiens or something like that http://folding.octeams.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=Downloads&file=index&req=viewdownload&cid=2. that's the link to download a protein folder. Helps scientist with research on the human body and how proteins take shape. It will use %100 of a processor while it is running. http://setiathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/download.html <---is SETI. that's right. SETI. I know it might be rediculous bout download that very small program and run it on your other processor and it takes data from the observatory in "Puerto Rico"??? and it crunches the data for them.
The great thing about these is if you have them both running they will use %100 of your system while they are running. And another good thing is that they are automatically set to low on your priorities list. That way when you rip a movie they go to using %0. So my computer has been running at %100 for the past several days. I've ran mine for weeks like that. No matter what you do with those two apps running they will keep your comp at %100.

why not use hot cpu 3.4 ?
it does not only load your cpu's
it also see if the calculations is right
you can have a perfect stable computer but that does bad calculations ( i once have a dual rig that ran Q3A for hours but could not do winrar because of calc errors)

Sven,
Thanks for the tip. I went ahead and purchased the full version (worth it for $15). It didn't tell me what was wrong, but helped me narrow it down.
My problem is fixed and I detailed it in this thread (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=34068). I think it was the sound card.

you aint helping alot if you havin't checked that you cpu are doing wrong calculations.
These prgoam does NOT check if cpu are doing the correct calculations and if you cpu are doing calc errors you will send bad data back and actually HURT the project/science.
seti2home,Prime,folding@home,the crack thingy only LOADS the cpu is does NOT check for right calculations like hotcpu
