Hi /all,

The case is this: i sometimes download DVD-R's, but they never contain dutch subs, so what i do is just strip the dvd into assets and start re-building the complete DVD and then add dutch subs. Everything went ok with Ice Age, The Boondock Saints and Oceans 11.

Ice Age and The Boondock Saints are NTSC, Oceans 11 was PAL.

My problem is the following, for example, i have the us dvd of Resident Evil, and that dvd contains english subs. From a website, i download the dutch subs that some ppl translate, but the dutch subs are not correctly timed. No problem tho, cuz i have the dvd with english subs, so if i rip them with subrip, i could adjust the dutch subs to the english ones.

Here is where the trouble begins. I user Subrip V1.06, and i rip the subs with OCR to a .srt file. But when i convert the .srt to .stl for maestro, the subs are not synced with the movie, in the beginning, it runs ok, but it keeps getting worse till about 10-20 sec's at the end of the movie.... i have tried a lot of things, but i just can't seem to get it fixed. Anny one who can tell me what the problem could be with the original subs on the DVD? I also have the same problem with Panic Room and some other movies btw...

Thanx in advance,

CMG

Oh, i would also like to mention that i have read allmoast the complete subtitle forum, and have no idea how to fix it :-/

Also, i tried to use other programms, but the OCR works so poorly, that it takes over 2 hours just do to a few lines :(

Hey Trini,

if you know how to help the man why don't you tell him? Don't point him to search for your "famous" manual.

CMG I think you should try with Subtitle Workshop. The only thing it asks you is to write the time code for the first and the last subtitle and the rest becomes a real magic in a second :)

You can search forum posts using the "search" button at the top of the page. Anyway, Subtitle Workshop is available from http://usuarios.lycos.es/dekoin/english/software/subtitleworkshop.html
