Hello,

this is my idea:

I want to extract from all my own Disney masterpiece DVDīs (Arielle, Hercules, etc.) the best songs and then put them on a DVD-R. (incl. Menu and more)

It is no Problem to extract the song (Video and Audio) itself from the orig. DVD. And it is also no problem to use e.g. Adobe Premiere to fade in and fade out the song (as Video).

But how can i do this with the Dolby Digital track? I donīt want to convert it to a 2-Channel Dolby Surround track (and put this WAV into Premiere).

Is there no AC3 Editor out there ? ;-)

Many regards,

Oliver Boerner

yes.
it is possible to implement fade in/out on ac3 without decoding->modifying->encoding it, by simply changing the dialog normalization field.
there's no tool that currently offer this, but i could write it.

no.
problem with modifying dialog normalization -
some of the ac3 decoders will ignore this field.
